New girl on block, will she talk to me again?

A new girl is about my age just moved in. She asked if I wanted to go to the park and of course i wanted to. Its 80 outside and it's friday night. my mom said I can't go untill she meets her parents. I told her I can't go and she said Well is there any kids around here. I told her a girl named Niki lived around here. She said okay. Dose that mean she'll hang out with Niki and not asked me some other time? I really need some friends around here. Will she come back. Why is my mom so overprotective?
